FLYING AI AND GOING VIRAL AND HAVING FUN!

Maybe it doesn’t happen that often these days, because of the ongoing reality show of the Big Orange in the golden White House, but, not that long ago, there were so many buying “views” and “followers” to create something or another that they hoped would go viral. But there’s going viral and then there’s “going viral” which used to be known as hype and is today dismissed as “fake news” or “AI”.
AI is not just political memes to be posted on X or something that’s ho hum funny featuring cats and with a limited amount of interest.
Just as some of us were were taught when in advertising, The Technique Is Not The Idea. Neither is technology.
The idea- a truly original idea- is going to come from the different thought processes of humans busy being and not dying and not following because following is not leading.
Following what’s “trending” or being said online is part of a copycat culture that seldom goes anywhere except perhaps down the gurgler.
Those who still want to lead and be seen as innovators don’t take the same path as the hordes and plebs who- altogether now - create oversupply and not enough demand and will be going in reverse a couple of hours later.
In the meantime, well done to @DexterBig from South Korea, who, by using AI and a simple yet fun and effective idea has gone viral with happy go lucky 20 second threads showing different airline cabin crews from around the world dancing to the track “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke and Pharrell.

Please, now, “digital creators”, let’s now not have waiters, jockeys, chefs, horses etc etc etc doing the same dance to “Blurred Lines” with dreams of also “going viral”.
@DexterBig had an idea, knew the right music track to use and “owned” the online world for a few days and marketed what their company does.
What’s next for those of us in art and marketing and creativity is turning all these TikTok and short time moments into fun, happy and interactive sustainable campaigns where the technology is not the idea and there’s a demand for something relevant.
Nothing beats keeping it real and simple and relevant and fun and never boring.
And if AI can be used for bigly fun, even better.
