“I was appalled and horrified at his ride! He rides like a sissy!”

Trainer William Haggas has been somewhat busy these days saying that though Oisin Murphy is a mighty fine jockey, he’s also been lambasting the recently crowned British champion jockey for some of his riding modus.

Not to be left out, wife Maureen Haggas has chimed in by appearing to be none too impressed with the riding skills of Champion Hong Kong Jockey Zac Purton.
This was after his ride at Randwick last weekend on the Haggas trained Lake Forest which came an inglorious last in the Group 1 King Charles 111 Stakes.

Mo, daughter of the legendary Lester Piggott, has gone on record about how she was “appalled”and “horrified, absolutely horrified” with “about the worst the ride” she’s ever seen.
She then described the Aussie’s efforts on their galloper as “just sitting there like a big sissy”.
Sissy? A BIG sissy?
Of course, the “sissy” that is the Zac Attack went on to win the $20 million Everest race at Randwick aboard the world’s best sprinter in Hong Kong’s Ka Ying Rising, none of which seemed to have made any impression on Maureen Haggas.
Apart from apparently also not being impressed with the performance in the saddle of James McDonald, Mo, who’s kinda reminiscent of Auntie Mame, made it very clear how fortunate she and other trainers in Europe are to have call on riders from England, Ireland and France.
The comeback from, well, sissy boy Zac? “She must have been on the drink”.
He then returned to counting the hundreds of millions made from the percentage of prize money he’s accumulated over the years for riding winners.
Now, who says horse racing ain’t entertaining?
