DJANGO UNCHAINED

Though never tired of Becks and Posh being interviewed by Ali G back in the day, there was some mild interest in watching and listening to her on a podcast in America called @callherdaddy. Of course, she was there to promote her Netflix documentary.

Having seen Charlize Theron, who we love to bits, use the word “fuxxing” quite a lot and about the joys of one night stands, we were expecting something kinda similarly offbeat from Victoria Beckham, who we know to have a very wicked sense of humour.

Alas, seen was extremely dreary and trying too hard to be spicy stuff and which made it pointless to even try and sit through her documentary on Netflix.

The decisions made by the Hong Kong Jockey Club are difficult to grasp at the best of times, speaking of which, we’re not the only people who found it puzzling to understand its “behind closed doors” race meeting on Sunday.

Though wonderful for the Club to donate all turnover from that day to those whose lives and well being have been affected by the fires in Tai Po, why not, as all other sports events in the city did over the weekend, cancel this race meeting as a MARK OF RESPECT for those who lost their lives?

If not believing such a move to be necessary, why not just have the race meeting as planned and open it to everyone instead of making it somewhat of a half arsed looking gesture?

ree

We’re no doubt missing something important for there to be “horse racing in a bubble”, especially when there are those who believe that the Wednesday night races should have been immediately cancelled when news of the fires was known.

We’re not the only people in Hong Kong- and the media overseas- who are puzzled with this decision made about Sunday’s race meeting whereas one wonders about the likability of today’s HKJC aka the “evil empire” and those helming its leadership?
