The positivity in being Now in Hong Kong and United.

Though having introduced my longtime friend Simon Fuller, CEO of X1X Entertainment, to the Hong Kong Jockey Club in the hope that the man who created the Idol franchise, managed the Spice Girls, Brand Beckham etc might be able to bring to Hong Kong positivity through his pop project known as Now United, because of travel and looking after my own life, I missed how all this is being communicated. 

Now United is a multi cultural pop group comprising boys and girls from around the world and with X1X Entertainment holding auditions to find their first member from Hong Kong- a young female to join the rest of the Now family and bring the world fun, happiness and infectious positivity. 

Easy to say and difficult to do in this often cynical and glass half empty world we often find ourselves in, and which why it’s good to see a young musical movement from around the world built around Hope and positivity in Hong Kong.

Now United is not another K-pop group with billions of dollars behind it and certainly succeeding in making their presence felt.

Nothing wrong with any of this though there’s always a need for balance.

Even the Beatles needed the Stones just like the Backstreet Boys needed N’Sync. And the beat goes on…

It was only while speaking to Simon last night that I understood why he had created Now United: It’s a labour of love and something for his three young daughters.

As a father, below is my daughter Taryn and Simon, this stopped me in my tracks and made me process everything and be drawn to this project in ways that I hadn’t before and try my best to be a support system.

Having recently started my own project to bring Hope and light to the world, it’s made me think about many things- especially the importance of family and looking forward.

Just maybe with Now United, we, in Hong Kong, have a starting point to create a better world for ourselves and invest in the next generation and the generation after that.

Yes, a chain reaction of positivity with no weak links- and only links to positive thinking- and bringing Hope to everyone.
