THE RAMATAN FILES

There’s so much wackiness, weirdness and way too much much ado about nothing happening every minute of every day that it’s really become difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff.

We’re in a world being constantly whacked by false bluster and clutter, where it’s difficult to prioritise what really matters.

The result of all this everything and nothing is the lowering of standards of pretty much everything.

Importance is placed on embracing irrelevance, pretentiousness and, well, stupidity, because too many are “experts” on everything, though none of this appears to be getting these “experts” anywhere of substance.

It’s an angry world out there, Toto, I don’t like it and neither do the “chosen few” closest to me.

Though having made plans for life outside of a Hong Kong that I no longer recognise and though the city is always going to be my home, I hope to leave scoring a home run here- and I am very confident of doing this.

If I don’t…

It’s about keeping myself busy by finishing two books, producing a short movie and trying to understand where Hong Kong is being taken and how long it’s going to take to get to wherever it’s heading.

Though some are positive about the city, others are not, because they have no options.

“We’re stuck here” says a friend though I remind him that at least he’s “stuck in his home” and without needing to worry about starting a new life in a different country while in his sixties.

Age dictates many life decisions.

What Hong Kong desperately needs is a massive injection of Happiness that can help people to LIVE instead of just survive.

Think: Some of us are twenty five years older than we were in 2000. It’s now adapting to these changes and being happy with ourselves.

If we don’t have real and honest to goodness Happiness around us, below are some videos and pictures that might help you, and especially children, to understand that there actually is some good out there.

It’s just making the time to find Happiness, carrying it with you and keeping well away from those with two faces.

It takes two to tango, and those who pay for, and don’t mind the company of those dripping in insincerity and hypocrisy, should be hobbled and called out.
